“Ignore the orcs! Hide behind them! Play dead if you are injured!” Lu Chen shouted loudly as he dashed to the back, leaving the few orcs coming at him to face the chimeras.

Qin Hua was also doing the same thing. No one needed to tell her twice. In fact, everyone understood this instinctively.

If there was an orc near them, they ran behind, leaving the beasts coming at them to claw the orcs.

Of course, the orcs also were not stupid and tried doing the same thing but their big stature left them at a disadvantage.

They were big juicy targets for the beasts so they immediately attracted attention.

The serpent headed chimera and the tiger hooked around four orcs and were chewing apart their flesh like it was nothing.

Just the sight was simply too terrifying to watch.

Lu Chen erupted several ice blocks and Alex melted some of the snow on the ground producing thick fog to give them some sort of head start.

While the army of beasts pounced ahead, they ran into the frozen forests as fast as they could. Everyone scrambled for their lives.

Qin Hua on the other hand did not have this privilege. She also tossed some orcs in front of her as a meat shield but she did not run away.

Lu Chen noticed her absence and turned around in shock. “Qin Hua. NO!!! DON’T DO THIS! RUNNN!”

“You are not a match for them! Please run first! We can think of something. There might be more orcs inside the forest. We can use them to reduce the number of beasts and then fight back.”

“PLEASE RUN!” Lu Chen’s voice was extremely shaky but he shouted at the top of his lungs. Everyone else also heard it and they continued running ahead.

But the person whom he intended the message for, stayed rooted to the snow covered ground. Lu Chen was out of his wits. He couldn’t just leave her and run.

Even if it was just a little bit, he wanted to stay back and offer that small support. It might mean his death but he just couldn’t bring himself to leave.

Without any other choice, he stopped running as well and turned around to run forward looking at her.

He saw that the wolf’s gaze was fixated on something and when he trailed her eyes, he finally saw it! This was why she hadn’t run away along with them!

This was the one reason she had stayed behind for…

Right next to the portal, almost being crushed in the stampede of the various grotesque beasts was Su Yan’s body!

Lu Chen’s eyes glistened with tears. Even he had forgotten about his friend but she hadn’t! He couldn’t hold back anymore and clenched his fists and shouted.

“Why! Fuck just why! Just leave him. Forget him. Come with me.”

Qin Hua calmly shook her head. If she had wanted to do that, she would have done it long back. She owed him one.

It didn’t matter how many resources he needed and it didn’t matter how long he took, she was going to protect him until he was awake again and is able to take care of himself.

If the two of them did not rescue her when she had been a helpless little pup, she would never even be alive right now.

She ran forward jumping into one shadow after another, trying to reach for the body near the portal.

A couple of attacks landed on her as some of the beasts had more speed and agility compared to her.

Qin Hua could feel her health dropping along with her blood dripping on the white snow but she just couldn’t desert the guy when he needed her the most.

However, even as she tried her best, her efforts were not nearly enough. A ram headed beast noticed Su Yan’s unconscious body and tossed it around like a football.

Both Lu Chen and Qin Hua shuddered at this sight. His body was flung into the air like dirt and it landed roughly on the snow with a thud.

Lu Chen was closer to Su Yan now and he ran forward, preparing to face the ram chimera that was also running to the same spot.

He was not aware but Qin Hua knew that Lu Chen’s level was nowhere closer to the chimera’s. A couple of attacks from the beast was probably enough to finish him and Su Yan together.

If things continued this way, she was going to lose both of them just like that!

Qin Hua did not realize but big drops of tears fell out of her eyes as she changed her direction and bounded on the opposite side.

She stopped the ram in its tracks, but another chimera near it noticed the dark wisps of energy and the two human beings and started rampaging towards them.

This chimera was even worse as its figure was simply gigantic. It had the body and the trunk of an elephant but its head was that of an eagle.

If the previous beast could finish them off in two attacks, this beast could simply finish them off in a single attack!

Qin Hua cast the same spell again imprisoning the second beast as the ram was the lesser of the two evils.

But no matter what she did, it was clear that they were simply struggling aimlessly, only trying to prevent the inevitable from happening.

They were out of their depths! They were going to drown! There was simply no other way out!

The ram was about to tackle Lu Chen and Qin Hua tackled it from the side, attracting its attention instead. Her figure shivered from the impact as her health dropped in half.

Just how strong was this fucking thing? Before Qin Hua could get a grip on herself, the ram prepared to attack again.

At the same time, two unexpected voices sounded.

“Get out. I am bombing this damned place!”
