“Search for crystal.” Qin Hua scribbled on the snow.

Fang Yuan and Geming would have been shocked to see a wolf write in human language, if not for their fear of the chimeras returning back any second now.

“What? Crystal? What is little white talking about?” Fang Yuan shouted in exasperation.

Other people had no idea about rift crystal, but Qin Hua knew that the spatial rift collapsed as soon as the crystal was taken away or rather stored in her inventory.

This was probably their only chance of escape. Either this or deal with the horde of chimeric beasts.

Very soon, distant rumbling sounds began to echo and Qin Hua, Lu Chen, and Coco started to run.

Fang Yuan got back into the military tank and Geming joined Lu Chen and ran along with the wolf and the cat.

“Fuck. Just get off the tank and come out!” Geming shouted.

The tank was considerably slower and Fang Yuan was lagging behind. “Fuck no! I have nothing else to fight with!”

The rumbling sounds were also getting louder and louder. Lu Chen stopped and turned around. “This is no good. They will catch up to us in no time. Qin Hua do you still have the grenades?”

The three of them discussed things when the first of the beasts started to emerge from within the frozen forest. “FIRE NOW! NOW!” Lu Chen shouted.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Fang Yuan aimed at the incoming beasts and started firing wildly. Lu Chen and Geming as well tossed every single grenade in their possession.

The frozen forest with icy cold winds was suddenly filled with loud explosions.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

All the chimera beasts got caught in the crossfire and were injured heavily by the blasts. They were quite intelligent and knew that they were being targeted because they were all together.

A couple of them instantly died and the rest scattered and ran away in different directions into the depths of the forests.

“Wooo! We got them!” Fang Yuan shouted in excitement. Qin Hua snarled and Lu Chen clenched his hand tightly.

Growl! She ran forward as she saw a couple of them struggling. She wanted to finish them off while she still could.

All of these chimera beasts were extremely strong. So killing even one of them carried a big reward.

And at this crucial time, every single experience point and every single mana core made a difference!

Qin Hua sprinted towards the site of the explosions and Lu Chen as well followed her.

Now that the herd was broken apart, Fang Yuan got out of the military tank and together with Geming followed Lu Chen as well.

Growl!

Qin Hua leaped onto the ape that was rolling on the snow with both its legs blasted away. She clawed the beast and finished it off completely, retrieving the mana core from within as well.

Lu Chen meanwhile took care of the other one, taking out the mana core and tossing it to Qin Hua. She didn’t stand on ceremony and simply wolfed it down.

“We need to run back to Alex, Xu Meilin, and the others. Some might have run there.” Lu Chen muttered and Qin Hua as well nodded.

She temporarily ignored the rift crystal strategy as hunting all the chimeras one at a time was a much better option.

Everything had changed in an instant. The danger and sure death they were facing was suddenly a golden opportunity in front of them!

Qin Hua looked at the two guys who had inadvertently saved her and everyone else whom she loved. She raised her paw and patted Fang Yuan, sending him flying instead.

“What? What did I do now?” The poor guy was confused.

Lu Chen, on the other hand, chuckled lightly. “Don’t worry. She was just thanking you.”

“Ahhh…” The guy on the ground was speechless. “I mean it was not a big deal.” He had stalked them for so long so this was the least that he could do.

The clone quickly picked up Su Yan and the group then ran into the frozen forest to search for the rest of their group.

Meanwhile…

Alex was staring at a 50 feet coiled python frog chimera. The beast was sticking its tongue out at her at a ridiculous speed and every time it did, a jet black ink squirted out.

“God save me. What the fuck is this? Why does it look so ugly? Is this poison?!”

“What the fuck! What the actual fuck! Huff! Huff!! Huff!!”

“FOR GOD’S SAKE GO RUN AFTER SOMEONE ELSE!”

Luo Zu ran around here and there as he shouted at the top of his lungs. Behind him was the python/ frog which was chasing him while also simultaneously attacking Alex.

“Alex! Big sis! Please Please! Do something!” It was not like he could stop running and turn around to face the giant frog faced python and fight it head on.

So really Alex was his only hope.

“Hold on. Hold on. Keep running. Don’t look back.” Alex calmly muttered and lifted her hand to send out blasts of fire at the python.

Several areas of its body were already injured with her attacks but the skin was too thick for the fire to do any real damage.

“I need to fight this closer!” She took a deep breath, steeled her nerves, and jumped next to the python’s tail with a big spear in her hand.

She had looted this equipment from a frost orc and it was the best weapon she had in her possession.

The big spear glowed bright red in her hands as she plunged the whole thing onto the python’s body.

CROAKKK!

The chimera yelped in pain and turned around, no longer focusing on Luo Zu. It now started chasing Alex around as the other party collapsed completely.
