Regus had already steeled his heart before the day’s meeting. He was fed-up of Marcus and had truly given up on his son as he was ready to completely cut him off, however, he decided to be merciful and give him a small piece of land to govern to be respectful to his dead mother, to whom Regus promised that he would take care of Marcus for life.

Just like Marcus, as a young military man Regus too fell in love with an exceptional woman from the military called ‘ Sylvia Nightblade ‘

Sylvia was from the cursed clan, ‘the Nightblade’ and hence Regus was reserved in making his move for her because his ambitions to become the vampire king clashed with marrying a member of the outlaw clan of blade users.

Rumi Titus had decreed that the Nightblade clan were outlaws and that nobody was allowed to interact with the clan for anything more than basic trade and services.

If anyone married into the Nightblade clan by the decree of the vampire king they would be branded an outlaw as well and hence Regus could not chase after Sylvia.

Although he was deeply infatuated with the woman, he never made his move for her nor did he ever stop any other male from approaching her.

Time went on, and another man from the Nightblade clan married Sylvia and they even had a daughter together, but on the other hand Regus’s life changed as well as he became vampire king and no longer had any reservations about chasing the woman that he wanted.

Regus launched an operation to suppress the Nightblade clan, but the cursed clan members chose to die rather than bend the knee as in their life they only had the desire to bend the knee to the god of darkness Umbro and nobody else.

A great war broke out, and Regus suffered unimaginable losses trying to kill every Nightblade member as he was painstakingly reminded as to why the Nightblade members were left alone by Rumi.

For every dead Nightblade clan member, hundreds of Regus’s troops died including 18 god’s who were killed by the Nightblade clan patriarch.

But Regus kept waging the war despite the losses as many members of the clan were killed in a widespread execution while the others were forced to go into hiding.

Virtually the entire Nightblade clan was wiped out in a matter of a few months, and the casualties included Slyvia’s husband who Regus killed personally by tearing him in half with his bare hands.

Slyvia herself was disgusted by Regus’s marriage proposal, however, to save the life of her 10 year old child she struck a deal with Regus that her daughter be allowed to live and marry like any other vampire under his rule and be permitted to live a normal life.

Regus agreed and although Slyvia was forced to separate from her daughter, she ensured that she got the best upbringing and found a good husband, as her daughter eventually ended up marrying a lord Cole Paratus and ended up having a family of her own.

On the other hand, Slyvia became the Vampire Queen, gave birth to Marcus and helped Regus with his administrative duties faithfully.

It was not a pleasant marriage for Slyvia at the start but Regus with his charm, status and money eventually won her heart over as she was very happy with him by the time she died.

Regus did remarry after her death, however, she remained to be his one true love even after he took in a second queen.
