” Oh, are you sure it’s them? ” Asmodeus asked with excitement in his voice.

” The scout who reported it said the kids were travelling in a group of four- A female vampire with Amber eyes, A dwarf, an Elf and a masked man with blood red eyes “. The leader of the scout replied

” Then it’s them without a shadow of a doubt, hahahaha, it’s time for revenge Sebastian! ” Asmodeus said as he rubbed his hands in glee

” How far away are they? ” Asmodeus asked, ready to go instantly

” 4 hours walk ” the scout leader replied.

Asmodeus wanted to go instantly, however, the mission of securing the egg was much more important, hence, he could only reluctantly say ” Send a squadron to capture the kids alive. I’ll torture them a good while before they beg to die “

” Yes captain” the scout replied as he immediately got to work.

( Meanwhile Max )

” The scent of blood, it’s very strong in this area ” Max said as the smell of blood wasped into his nose

” Well dragon’s like to mark their territory with blood, so this means we are most likely approaching a dragons territory” Sebastian said subconsciously as the other members threw a glance at him in astonishment

” How do you know this information? ” Anna asked, impressed by Sebastian’s knowledge

Realising that he had never heard this piece of information before in his life but somehow managed to recite it in this moment Sebastian stuttered ” I-its probably because of the demon, the priest told me he deliberately extracted the demon’s knowledge and put it inside of me.

At times I feel like I have all these incredible memory reserves, but somehow when I consciously try to tap into them, I can’t recall anything.

But subconsciously I know shocking things”

Max patted Sebastian on the head, the dwarf had been through a lot, but if he managed to get a demon’s memory pool it was certainly an extremely valuable asset.

” Guy’s if we are in a dragon’s territory it’s best to tread with extreme care, there could be a nest nearby, but if we are unfortunate there can also be a living breathing dragon nearby” Max said as the group instantly began walking in a tight formation, conscious of every step they took, making sure not to make any unnecessary noise as they scanned the area for potential dangers.

The group was lucky and had encountered a yellow dragon’s nesting area with two extremely plump looking yellow dragon eggs inside, ripe for stealing.

Max shivered at the sight of the two yellow dragon eggs, there was no mother dragon incubating them at the moment which meant that they had perhaps come at a golden time where she had gone out to hunt for food.

Max scanned the area just to make sure and indeed there was no mother dragon nearby.

” Yellow dragon eggs … we can steal them” Max said with uncertainty behind his voice, as he looked at his comrades for confirmation.

Everyone felt an adrenaline rush at the moment, this was a heaven sent opportunity for the group because they could potentially steal two dragon eggs as easily as taking eggs from a henpen.

” We should steal it, we are not adventurers if we don’t make use of this opportunity” Anna said with conviction in her voice as she looked at the dragon eggs longingly

” Alright then, let’s do it ” Asiva said revealing a rare smile as she clutched her daggers

” Okay, but who gets them? ” Sebastian asked as being the only one with a dragon egg he did not need one, and with these two added to the group’s collection it would leave only one of them without their own dragon egg.

Asiva wanted to say that it should be herself and Max who should get them, but before she said anything Max’s voice could be heard loud and clear ” What kind of question is this Sebastian my buddy, ladies first of course”.

Max smiled as he said this as the group’s respect for the guy increased tenfold because of this one casual comment.

The appeal of a dragon egg was not small, there was no guarantee that the group would encounter a chance like this again, but still Max was ready to let-go of the opportunity unselfishly, just for the sake of his friends, this was truly admirable.

” Aww thanx ma–zzz, Ravan, thanx ” Anna said as she hugged his arm and Asiva glared daggers through her.

Asiva was sure that one of these days Anna was going to cause big troubles for Max as she clearly had little self restraint.

” Enough chit-chat, the mother dragon can come back any second, quickly go and bind yourselves with the eggs before transferring them to the petspace as we run.

That way even if we die, we still have the eggs “. Max said as Anna and Asiva nodded, sprinting quickly towards the nest and binding themselves to one egg each.

The adrenaline rush the group felt in these 30 seconds was unreal as every second they spent felt like an eternity because of the uncertainty of the mother dragon’s return.

Although Max and Sebastian said nothing, their minds kept shouting ‘ Faster, Faster, let’s get out of here ‘ and their heart rate kept racing

Eventually as the girls returned the group did start sprinting out of the area like there was no tomorrow, smiling and laughing thinking they had pulled it off successfully, only for their worst fears to turn into reality as they heard an angry dragon’s roar on their back.
