I Was Sick of Loving You chapter 60

60 – strange feeling

Three weeks and nights had passed since I followed Princess Iris and Rachel. In that short time, I realized that my shallow knowledge and preconceptions were wrong.

Dark elves were born from the corruption of elves, and they knew that they were shady, exclusive, and reticent monsters.

That knowledge realized that it was wrong when he saw Rachel talking nonstop.

“At that time, as the brother collapsed, he said to the sister: ‘Don’t cry.’ Then he wiped away my tears, and he really gave me goose bumps.”

“Okay, so stop talking about it.”

Rachel told me about my lost memories, adding exaggerated facial expressions and gestures to her acting, and even adding criticism to make me suffer.

I didn’t know anything else about that figure, but I realized that the knowledge that I was reticent was completely wrong.

“Then, I’ll tell you about the martial arts competition.”

“I heard it yesterday.”

“Is it? I don’t remember. Well, listen one more time though. It may feel different.”

She said that, ignoring my intentions and starting to tell the story.

“When I first saw the brother, the expression on his face was really amazing. The other participants looked down on them as if they were not their opponents. Even thinking about it again, that expression was genuine.”

“Do not lie! Didn’t you say that you had a lonely expression yesterday, like a person left alone in the world?”

“Oh, did I?”

“Yes, I heard you.”

She rolled her eyes for a moment, then opened her mouth with a shy expression.

“It looks like you confused it with another memory. Anyway, it was a great expression.”

At that, her words became lighter.

“Do you know what the reaction was when I approached the brother with that expression on his face?”

I know because I heard it yesterday. I felt like if I answered, I would get caught up in her intentions, so I kept my mouth shut.

“With arms crossed, voices lowered and ‘Do you have business?’ You said this. Wow, I really wondered what kind of person there was back then.”

Her exaggerated voice and facial expression gnaw at my heart. As I continued to gnaw away at my heart, I heard words that saved me from this situation.

“Rachel, the sun is going down, find me a place to spend the night.”

“Oh, it was fun. Brother, I will tell you again later.”

“No need.”

“Hey, don’t bounce. It is all necessary for you, brother.”

Saying so, she climbed the tallest tree nearby. Seeing her disappear for a moment, he let out a sigh he had been holding back.

“You look tired. If you’re having trouble hearing the story, be honest. Rachel is playful, but she doesn’t force herself to do things she doesn’t like.”

The princess’s words were tempting, and I was a bit taken aback, but I shouldn’t be like that. There is a feeling that Rachel is exaggerating, but there is no lie mixed in. Since no lies have been mixed, you must not turn your eyes away from my life. Even if you don’t remember it.

“it’s okay. Rachel might be exaggerating, but that’s my story after all. So, I don’t want to turn a blind eye and run away.”

“Right. Good attitude.”

The princess said that, but for some reason she looked a little gloomy. I care about how it looks. When I tried to open my mouth because of that concern, Rachel’s voice stopped it.

“I found it! If you go a little left from the direction you were going, you will find a place to rest.”

Her voice is heard above the trees, and she lands in front of us with a light breeze.

“It’s a bit far, so I think I’ll hurry up.”

“Then, you’d better speed up.”

Saying so, the princess moved at a slightly faster pace. Seeing such a princess, I swallowed my worries and quietly moved on.

After a long walk, feeling the stillness that had come after a long time, I came to an open plain where a low river flows.

“If it was as open as this, there wouldn’t be a need to scout the surroundings.”

“that’s right. By the way, do we only eat dry food today?”

“There’s nothing else besides that, so is there anything else?”

“Ugh. I miss you brother today.”

Rachel said that and looked at me with a strange expression.

“What does it mean?”

“It doesn’t mean much.”

She said that and sighed. Feeling curious about her appearance, I prepared for the night.

A small tent was set up to block the morning dew, and a small bonfire was built. We put a small pot on the campfire, soaked the beef jerky, and ended our monotonous meal with it.

When that monotonous meal was over, Rachel stood up with a determined expression on her face.

“I’ll come find some food.”

It’s time for the reddish color of the world to fade, but what are you talking about?

“Rachel, the sun is gone, so wouldn’t it be better to go tomorrow morning?”

“Sister, it will be late tomorrow morning. I mean I need it now. And it’s okay because I have bright eyes at night.”

Rachel threw her words away and ran towards the river. I was worried about how it looked.

“Are you okay, princess?”

“It will be fine. You don’t know because you haven’t seen Rachel’s strength yet, but it’s not enough for us to worry about.”

“okay.”

I put my worry in the princess’s assertion. As I put my worries into it, the emotions I had swallowed earlier came back. After thinking for a while, I opened my mouth.

“Princess, I have something to ask you. Are you okay?”

The princess answered my words with a smile.

“There is no need to ask such an example. Just speak comfortably.”

“Even if you say so.”

The princess sighed once and looked at me.

“Alric. you are my betrothed So I’m not in a position to notice. And I don’t want you to notice I don’t want to see you like that anymore.”

The last words, which were almost mumbled, sounded like they were filled with sadness.

“I will do that in the future.”

A faint smile crept across the princess’s face again.

“So, what do you want to ask?”

“Remember the conversation Rachel had when inspecting the camp?”

“Yes, I remember.”

“During that conversation, when the princess praised my attitude, she looked a little depressed. It bothered me and I spoke up.”

A slightly bitter smile was imprinted on the princess’s face.

“Did it look like that? Yes, it must have seemed that way.”

The princess looked at the sky for a moment, then looked at me again.

“I just heard your story and it made me feel ashamed.”

As I wrote a little, the dry words scattered.

“Even if you lose your memory, you remain straight and do not run away. But I didn’t.”

Those words seemed a bit sad.

“I also tried to live an upright life like you. Well, that’s how I was going to live. Whether it is intentional or unintentional.”

The words dry up.

“I have been through a situation a little similar to yours.”

I felt that the flow of the story was slightly twisted, but I listened while erasing that feeling.

“At that time, I only believed in what was engraved on my head and lived my life thinking that it was right.”

Contrary to the dry words, the voice becomes wet.

“But, that was wrong. I realized that too late…”

Your voice gets a little wetter. That wet voice comes quietly.

“When I realized that, I denied reality and looked away. I kept denying it, but life kept bringing me to the fore that I was wrong.”

The early morning dew has already begun to form.

“Like that, I lost to life and abandoned uprightness. So your heart looked beautiful. And I felt pathetic. That feeling has been passed on to you. I’m sorry.”

The condensed dew flowed down, moistened the ground, and disappeared. Seeing that, so many thoughts and emotions rushed in that I was unable to speak for a while. I sorted out the thoughts and emotions that came rushing in, and opened my closed mouth.

“Princess. I don’t know the princess’s life, but there’s no need to blame yourself like that.”

The princess’ wet eyes looked at me.

“I also spoke so slickly, but I ran away from life many times. I rolled my eyes countless times. Even if it’s not me, most people live like that. No, there are many more people who are worse off than that. So don’t beat yourself up like that.”

“right. You are right. But, I’m not good at it.”

Dry words keep piercing my heart. At those stabbing words, my heart moved, and my heart moved my mouth.

“Then I will help you.”

Various emotions passed across the princess’s face, and at the end a faint smile bloomed.

“Will you do that?”

“Yes. I will.”

“Okay, then would you like to do me a favor?”

“If I can, I will do it.”

The light smile darkened slightly.

“Before you lost your memory, you called me by name. It’s Iris.”

At those words, my heart reacted and started beating a little violently, and the princess’s name began to ring in my head.

“If you call me that again, I think it will help.”

A bright smile bloomed on the dewy face. Emotions I hadn’t felt before flooded into that figure. The emotions that flooded in were unfamiliar, yet familiar.

Such a strange feeling shook my heart and made me open my mouth.

“I will do as the princess wishes.”

“Then call me now.”

At those words, he cleared his trembling throat for a moment and opened his mouth.

“Ah, Princess Iris.”

Strange emotions shook my heart so much that other emotions were dragged up and I was unable to fulfill the princess’s request completely.

Even so, the smile that bloomed on the princess’s face did not fade and became a little brighter.

“It’s not the feeling I was hoping for, but it’s nice too.”

At those words and smiles, a strange feeling grew in size.

“I will continue to call you that.”

“Yeah, I will.”

My heart was shaken by a strange feeling, and I felt the heat as the winter came to an end. As I was feeling those strange sensations, I heard Rachel’s voice from afar.

“I’ve been looking for food!”

Looking from where the voice came from, Rachel came running with fruit and some fish in her arms. The strange feeling that shook my heart at that appearance was aroused a little.

“I picked the ones that look delicious! Uh, by the way brother, where are you sick? Your face is red.”

“There is no pain anywhere.”

“But why are you so red?”

“I don’t know about that.”

Rachel looked at me with a strange expression and sat down. In the midst of the noise that came back like that, I slowly chewed on the emotions I couldn’t understand.
