However, he must have thought of ways to deal with Otome Sakagami if she escaped when he was putting a seal on her.

If the Jade of Four Souls was not under anyone’s control, it would have the effect of suppressing Otome Sakagami directly by its internal power. What would happen if that pure power is unleashed? Mei showed the answer. Although the Broken Demon Bow also played a part, the unleashed power was mainly from the Jade of Four Souls. 

He had been thinking of using the internal pure power before this but he realized that he could not. He was stunned when he found out that Mei could use it as that meant that he had not been acknowledged by the Jade of Four Souls. 

There must be no impurities in one’s heart in order to be acknowledged by the Jade of Four Souls! Mei received the acknowledgement but he did not. This was exactly like the legend of how unicorns can only be tamed by virgins.

That’s melodramatic! After dissing the Jade of Four Souls in his heart, Kimura Kazuki soon found the bounty left by Otome Sakagami. 

It was fortunate that Otome Sakagami died on an unknown hill instead of the city or it would likely caused a ruckus. It seemed like Otome Sakagami did not want to be noticed by human beings because if she were to be on the news, it would be highly possible that an Onmyoji would find out that something was wrong and they would find ways to suppress her. 

It was unexpected to Kimura Kazuki that Otome Sakagami would end up dead from getting shot by just three arrows. After all, Mei was not that strong as she was only in the Second Foundation State.

“Is this…” Harunaka was looking at the droplet-shaped spar in her senior’s hands with curiosity.

When Asuka saw this, he was excited. After all, Otome Sakagami was killed by his sister and that booty belonged to her. 

Kimura Kazuki sensed with reiki and found that this blood-colored droplet-shaped spar contained a lot of reiki in it. It was visibly bloody because there were a lot of impurities in it. However, the amount of reiki inside would still be great if the impurities were removed. 

Since he was cooperating with Sei Shigeru, he would not covet this spar. Otherwise, he would not have allowed Asuka to follow him.

He threw the spar to Asuka. Looking at his joyful expression, Kimura Kazuki looked around again and noticed that Otome Sakagami’s breath had completely disappeared. 

The three of them went back after that. It took them two hours to come here, but it only took about an hour to go back.

Kimura Kazuki noticed that Sakanoue no Tamuramaro’s body had disappeared when the three of them returned to Sakagami Village. He understood what happened at once. 

Sei Shigeru had been comforting the people from Sakagami Village for three hours due to the six deaths in Sakagami Village. Five of them were elders and one was a young man. According to Sei Shigeru, the young man died from shock. 

The atmosphere of the entire Sakagami Village was low after the incident. Even though the villagers were comforted by Sei Shigeru, Kimura Kazuki could still hear crying around the village when he returned. The most heartbroken person was Grandma Sakagami who did not know that the Majin had long been a parasite on her granddaughter.

Yet she had to witness her own granddaughter getting shot to death by Mei with the Broken Demon Bow.

Although she was aware that her granddaughter died earlier, she could not face Kimura Kazuki and the others. Mei felt awkward because of this. Fortunately, Sei Shigeru had comforted her so her expression was back to normal.

Of course, it was not all bad news for Sakagami Village. The curse on them was lifted with Otome Sakagami’s death.

The curse by Otome Sakagami had polluted the bloodline in Sakagami Village previously. The curse could not be broken as long as she existed for one day. Now that she had died, the curse was lifted automatically.

This was great news for Sakagami Village and it was also the reason why they did not despair over the deaths. 

The curse had been put on the villagers of Sakagami Village for almost 1,000 years now. They knew that they were very fortunate to have the curse undone this time.

Their children and grandchildren would be able to lead normal lives in the future. They could be admitted to prestigious schools and pass on their generations in the city. They no longer need to stay illiterate in Sakagami Village for the rest of their lives.

Sei Shigeru took the blood spar from Asuka, took a glance at his granddaughter and saw her nod. He then handed the blood spar to Kimura Kazuki. Noticing his confusion, Sei Shigeru put on a faint smile. “You were the one who killed the Sakanoue shikigami, so this is yours. Even though the Sakanoue shikigami is dead, it will contribute greatly to Shigeru family’s research. I was wondering if we could exchange this blood spar for the shikigami. What do you think?”

Kimura Kazuki initially thought that the other party would want to exchange the blood spar for the Jade of Four Souls and then use something else as an exchange for the Sakanoue shikigami. Sei Shigeru’s act was completely unexpected to him!

Sei Shigeru wanted to do that initially, but he knew that the Jade of Four Souls contained pure power internally. That strong power could be seen from the enhancement of the Broken Demon Bow. Although the Shigeru family had been around for thousands of years, they had nothing comparable to the Jade of Four Souls.

Sei Shigeru was clearly unaware that Kimura Kazuki could not use the power inside the Jade of Four Souls. Of course, Kimura Kazuki would not disclose it by himself. He took the blood spar and nodded casually. “Sure!”

He knew that the Sakanoue shikigami would be another useful tool to the Shigeru family if given to them.

The Shigeru family had something which was capable of resurrecting a shikigami, but he did not know what it was.

Anyway, the body of the shikigami would not be of any use for him. His cultivation methods were fundamentally different from that of the Japanese Onmyoji.
