Chapter 253: Still Pick This Loli Up

In that moment, under the effect of the Demon Refining Ritual, the entire Ataru Canyon was already in complete chaos.

Countless demonic beasts started turning aggressive, vicious, and warped under the effect of the ritual’s effect. Some had even already completely lost control and had already starting mindlessly killing each other.

What’s even more terrifying though, is that whenever they succeed in killing a target, they’ll completely devour said target. Not only would they consume the other party’s magic power and grow stronger, even their own bodies started changing. It’s as if they’ve merged with their dead victims, growing out limbs, eyes, or even heads of said victims, turning them extremely horrifying.

Soon enough, within the Ataru Canyon, one demonic beast after another had started turning into unrecognizable monsters that looked like chimeras of various different demonic beasts, pieced together, vicious looking and terrifying to behold.

Unquestionably though, under the effect of the Demon Refining Ritual, those demonic beasts turned more and more vicious, more and more scary, and along with that, they’ve also become stronger and stronger.

Shien had personally witnessed a level 40 demonic beat eat up a level 30 demonic beast, absorbed its victim’s magic power, and grew parts belonging to said victim. Then, its level instantly rose to level 45.

And after that level 45 monster was eaten up by a level 60 monster, that monster’s level had risen to level 66.

The demonic beasts completely rampaged just like that, devouring one another. As their numbers constantly decreased, one after another stronger and stronger monster continuously appeared.

In the end, when those monsters saw Shien and Airi, they would also charge in without regard for their own lives.

Only, they seem to be aiming for Airi a lot more, comparatively, than they do Shien.

Airi’s pretty little face sank as she humphed. Then a terrifying wave of magic power immediately erupted from her body.

That magic power first blew away those attacking monsters. Then, it tore those that were sent into the air into shreds like an invisible grinder, leaving only grounded up flesh and blood spilled everywhere.

“Did you have to be so bloody about it?” Shien stuck out his tongue as he watched before then looked toward Airi and asking, “Speaking of, why are they all going for you?”

“It’s because I’m a demon.” Airi coldly humphed again, “Demon Refining is just what it says in the name, in that it only refines demons and demonic beasts. Only demons and demonic beasts can become food for the Demon Lord and contribute to the completion of said Demon Lord’s creation. Thus, it’s only natural that they’d all charge at demons and demonic beasts.”

Based on Airi’s explanation, this ritual should specifically target demons and demonic beasts. In that case then, wouldn’t Airi, as a demon, likely end up affected by the ritual and end up a berserk monster that only knows to devour those of her own race as well as demonic beasts?

“Don’t worry.” Airi seemed to have saw through Shien’s thoughts as she calmly spoke, “This is a ritual used to complete a Demon Lord, so it won’t have any affect on the already complete me.”

With that, Airi continued moving forward.

Shien also relaxed.

“The ritual used to complete a Demon Lord won’t have any effect on that girl who’s already complete…?”

Hn. It feels like this big shot once again leaked some pretty scary settings about herself.

As Shien and Airi continued deeper into the Canyon, on the other side, in the deepest part of the canyon, a large group of people unexpectedly appeared.

Some of them wore gorgeous equipment, while others were dressed like knights. Their statuses varied, but a large portion of them looked like nobility.

At that moment, they were gathered at the shores of a large lake.

At their head was an old man of around 50 with a fierce looking appearance.

The old man was coldly gazing at the lake in front of him.

At that moment, an extremely violent fight was taking place.

Following an earthshaking roar, an enormous demonic beast went berserk, continuously killing all the other demonic beasts mobbing it.

The demonic beasts attacking this terrifying demonic beast were all unnatural looking monsters. They were obviously amalgamation monsters created under the influence of the Demon Refining ritual.

The monsters launched themselves at that terrifying demonic beast without any fear before being violently butchered by said beast, turning into masses of magic power and blood before flowing into that terrifying demonic beast.

As this happened, that demonic beast became more and more violent, but it was also in more and more pain. Its roars were filled with misery as if refusing or rejecting something.

This made all the nobles around that old man stare in fear.

“How terrifying…”

“It could even reject the magic power, blood, and flesh entering it with just it’s will?”

“As expected of a terrifying demonic beast that has reigned here for four hundred years.”

The nobles were clamoring.

Only the old man, as he continued coldly observing all this, spoke, “But it can’t hold on for much longer. It’s only a matter of time before it becomes one of the refining demons.”

At that point, the most perfect sacrifice will be born, which will then be consumed by the Demon Lord Spawn.

“Continue drawing even more demonic beasts or refining demons here.”

The old man so ordered the knights around him.

The knights headed out to carry out their orders, and the old man once again looked toward the surrounding nobles.

“What about your side? Have you still not dealt with the child of the Arbin family’s sinner?”

The old man’s voice was utterly freezing, which also carried within it a thread of obstinate hatred.

A noble immediately spoke up with a bitter expression.

“That bitch has the Protector God of Kingdom by her side. Killing her is no easy feat.”

When he heard that, the old man’s expression turned even fiercer.
