Kaboom!

An explosive bang echoed in the dark hotel lobby lighting up every inch of the dark cramped space filled with various noxious insects.

Sparks flew in the air. Some of the mattresses caught in flames and suddenly everything started burning.

Alex danced around with her new ability completely out of her control.

And Qin Hua’s thoughts as she gazed at the babbling fire dancer were somewhere else, rather than on the burning building.

She stared at the scene with her mouth wide open. [Woof! Why the hell did I not think of this before?]

Yes, the probability of obtaining a skill from a demonic mana core was very small and on top of that there might be unforeseen side effects

But the truth was that there was a big loophole! The lucky mascot of the group negated all these things! Coco’s luck attribute was apparently enough to trigger that 1% chance for gaining a special ability!

Qin Hua watched Alex who was grinning like a lunatic. She could tell that the woman was ecstatic. In this new world where only power mattered, this kind of reaction was entirely within expectations.

Who wouldn’t want to be more powerful and capable and gain additional abilities to deal with the things that the world threw their way?

Alex spun around and without any restraint started throwing small balls of fire here and there. Any bug that came in contact with her hot flames was quickly burnt to a crisp.

Their exoskeleton was not hard enough to withstand the heat.

With Alex’s contribution added in, the black swirl of insects inside the lobby quickly started disappearing.

However, because it was an enclosed space, the entire place now started burning and filling up with smoke.

The window panes which were already about to break now burst open and shattered into a million smaller pieces and even more insects started rushing inside.

Ah! Ahhh! Arghhh!

Several screams echoed from the group of survivors. They didn’t know whether to be terrified of the fire or to be terrified of the insects. It was as if they could die any moment now without even knowing what killed them.

There was too much confusion and chaos around and no one could think clearly. There was only hysteria and mass panic.

SLAM!

It didn’t take long for the door to break and fall down and the swarm of insects began to barge in without any barriers standing in their way.

As everyone stumbled around in a state of confusion, unable to endure the pain caused by the insects upon them, they began to run about in a haphazard manner.

They now began to fight back, waving their daggers, and no longer stood still as stones, but it was too late. The situation had already spiraled out of control.

Lu Chen and Guan Ye did their best, but they were only two men and they couldn’t manage the crisis. Their mana also had already been sucked dry, along with their stamina.

The entire hotel looked like it was about to explode at any second now and meanwhile…

Qin Hua was standing still at the center of the burning lobby.

A strange glint shone in her pair of blue and green feral eyes, that was even brighter than the flames engulfing everything.

Qin Hua’s mind was completely empty. Despite the pandemonium, she currently did not think about anything else, not even the bugs that were crawling and biting every inch of her skin.

Inside her brain, there was only one thought running. Rain!

She grasped onto that concept like how the vampiric mosquito had latched onto her glossy black fur currently covered in soot and smoke.

She closed her eyes and summoned the black arrow that she had been messing around with for the past few hours before the swarm of insects had descended.

She had manipulated the energy of the arrow in different ways but nothing had worked. However, now suddenly everything seemed to click in her brain.

She watched the hot burning fire dancing around the hotel lobby and she instantly knew what she had been missing.

She needed to focus more! She needed to visualize everything to the last detail!

The thing that was complex and vague previously was now crystal clear to her. She knew what to do.

Qin Hua did not delay it any longer and used every last bit of energy in her body and focused it all together in complete and utter concentration into one single attack.

She then visualized what she wanted, what she needed to happen.

1 second… 2 seconds… 3 seconds passed and nothing changed.

However, the next instant, suddenly a dark ominous aura started creeping into the room and eerily dark black clouds hung amidst the burning ceiling of the hotel lobby like floating cotton candies.

The clouds that should only be scattered across the vast expansive sky up above had somehow appeared in the small confined space.

The next second, all the chaos, and pandemonium unexpectedly froze and only a strange silent drizzling noise filled the room.

There were dark black clouds within the hotel lobby and it was freaking raining?!

Small drops and beads of dark energy drizzled like pouring rain and drenched everyone.

It sizzled as it fell on everything, including the flesh and skin of the people standing around and it consumed the small bugs swirling in the air. Not even the flames were left unharmed.

The fire that was roaring as if it was alive was silently devoured by the black rain that poured endlessly.

Qin Hua was, however, too tired to notice anything. She flopped onto the ground, her health and her mana completely drained.

Immediately, everything and everyone became still and silent and in one single attack, the burning world came to a complete halt.

One second there were swarms of insects from hell flying around and the next second, there wasn’t even a single buzzing sound in the air.

There was only a deathly silence.
