One bright afternoon, when half of May went by, the wedding of Raihan, Hannah, and Serpina was held.

“It’s been a while since I’ve seen a wedding with two brides.”

“The brides are friends with one another.”

The wedding hall was packed with people as it was the wedding between Serpina, the bishop of the most powerful religious body in Sherden, and Raihan, a famous member of Astray. In fact, Hannah was being overwhelmed by the other bride, but she didn’t seem to care about it. Evan knew the reason for it after visiting the brides’ waiting room.

“So, did they make it?”

“Yeah. She is five weeks pregnant.”

Evan started to see the relationship among those three briefly. At this pace, Evan suddenly thought that they would all get along well together. “Is that young man the famous Sir Raihan Drukas? Wow, he looks great, really.”

There was no way to settle this misunderstanding. Evan murmured quietly to himself and let out a sigh. His attention was directed to the wedding dress which Serpina and Hannah were wearing. The wedding dress made by Evan’s private designer Ottpah made their beauty shine brighter than ever. But Evan was deeply relieved while looking at the belly of Serpina. He knew how worried Raihan was when he was informed of her pregnancy.

He didn’t like his pregnant wife Serpina joining the scenario. He was worried that the child would be born even before their wedding. On top of that, he was also concerned about having a wedding ceremony when she was in her last month of pregnancy. It was given that her belly, which was merely three months in terms of pregnancy, became lean during her conception from the blessing from the Great Mother, which was known to take away even the fats of a heavy drinker. Evan narrowed his eyes as he recalled the day he had met the tearful Raihan at a pub. It felt like time didn’t pass by that much, but Raihan had changed a lot since then. No…his instinct in wanting to protect people remained unchanged.

“Unnie wants the boy to look like Raihan.”

“Really? Raihan said he wants his daughter to look like his wives.”

“Isn’t that like a promised ritual? Like a proof of their love towards each other.”

“It might be. In the case of my child, I’ll love them regardless of their look.”

“I hope our child will look like me.”

Belois said so suddenly. Evan tilted his head but finally understood her intention.

“Our child?”

“Yes.”

Evan secretly took a step back away from her and tried to defend himself.

“Yes. I’m just saying that if I’m to give birth to a child someday, I want her to look like me.”

“Why?”

Thankfully, there was no reason to cast a barrier in his bedroom tonight. Evan asked her why as he felt a bit relieved, and Belois laughed quietly, replying without the slightest hesitation.

Evan held her hand tighter and calmed his heart. It was time for him to make a move for her. The expedition of Astray was decided at that moment.

The destination: The Flame Hell, the antithesis of the Eternal Glaciers. Its name was the Volcanic Desert.
