Max explained the plan to all 13 local captains.

For this mission, Max had decided that the best course of action would be to take only the tier3 captains with him for the fight, because the tier1 and 2 soldiers might have trouble scaling the walls.

Although the captains did not understand the specifics of the plan as to what was natural gas and what Max intended to do, the only thing they knew for sure was that they had to enter the rebel city and be ready for a fight.

Hence the preparations for the departure began.

Severus was responsible for collecting the natural gas in pressurised cylinders as his background as a part time scientist helped him achieve the task.

Anna and Asiva were responsible for buying the necessary resources such as arrows, ropes, potions etc.

Max was responsible for mentally psyching up Sebastian and finding appropriate costume as he dressed up the dwarf in the most earthy piraty way possible.

Sebastian had a black bandanna over his head with small skull symbols all over, he had silver beads hanging from his long beard and a temporary mermaid tattoo over his neck made from blue ink.

He wore a loose, dirty red tshirt with a brown jacket and looked like a complete pirate straight out of a 1960’s film.

” Hohoho, Girls who suck dick are big fat hohoho ” Sebastian said as Max chuckled.

” You’re not Santa Claus, agh leave it you wouldn’t know that old man ” Max said as he realised mid sentence that although Sebastian was a human once, he was not a human from earth.

” What, I thought I nailed it? All pirates are degenerates who live half their lives in whorehouses.

They make nasty jokes about women all the time ” Sebastian said in his defence as he became conscious of his acting.

” I have no idea buddy, all I know of space pirates is that they try to loot newly integrated planets and that they are pathetically weak.

When they attacked a newly awakened earth, my brothers sneeze was enough to kill them ” Max said as Sebastian’s face turned a little sad

” Well your brother killed a monarch, so, yeah of course he’s strong ” Sebastian said with a little anger behind his voice.

Max felt guilty, although he had nothing to do with Thor’s killing, Max felt bad for Sebastian to lose his father.

The two of them had confronted this issue, and Sebastian had said that he barely knew Thor anyways and that his death won’t affect their friendship, however, it was still a sore subject to touch.

” Well, we leave in 3 hours, we wanna sneak in at night so that we face the least resistance.

Take care ” Max said, as he decided to bail and give Sebastian some space.

( In Max’s private cabin )

Max had a lot on his mind, however he did not want to overthink about what could go wrong in the future, hence, to pass the time he decided to enter the mirror world and do some training until it was time to go.

Max sat cross legged, and closed his eyes as he asked Drax to let him enter the mirror world and the old A.I. did as requested and extracted Max’s consciousness into the mirror world.

It was Max’s first time entering the place and Max was pleasantly surprised to see that it looked just like the cave where Kremeth had taken him to train and teach his core tricks, as Max soon realised that it was not like the cave, but the cave itself, as in it was a perfect replication.

” I designed it this way so that you may feel familiar with the place ” Drax’s voice echoed from the surroundings as a mirror image of Max, dressed in white robes walked out in front of him and stared straight into Max’s eyes.

” Freaky ” Max said, as it felt odd to see his own face as an opponent, however he soon took a fighting stance and prepared to give it his all.

[ Battle Mode ]

His enemy activated battle mode and the flame armour activated.

A cool montage of his robes burning away and being replaced by a flaming armour were witnessed by Max as he felt impressed by the Agni-Astra’s ability and said ” Looks really cool “

The enemy balled his fists and let out the attack [ Inferno ] as Max happily let the thing hit, thinking that he was immune to fire damage.

However, the attack overwhelmed Max as he felt a searing burning sensation and a moment later he found himself standing in the far corner of the cave as a projection of Drax the A.I. informed him that he died.

” How the fuck am I hurt by fire? ” Max complained to Drax, not understanding why fire was able to kill him.

” In this mirror world your resistances and immunity count for nothing. It’s a training ground, do you think the fire god would be able to train against his own clone here if the two of them could not use fire attacks on each other?

What would he come here to train then? Swordsmanship? ” Drax reprimanded Max who shook his head and jogged back to his opponent, ready for another round.

Max activated Battle-Mode himself and took a fighting stance ready to attack his clone with fire attacks this time around.

Max took the initiative to attack first this time as he launched a fireblast towards his enemy who charged straight towards the attack and blocked it with the [ Fireshield ] technique without even using any of his arms.

His enemy counterattacked with a fireblast of his own, and Max had to roll away sideways to avoid the attack since he did not have mastery over the Fireshield spell yet.

By the time Max was on his feet he was surrounded by 15 hounds as for the first time ever his own beasts jumped at him.

Max tried to fend them off, but all of them attacking him at once forced him to momentarily ignore his opponent, who used another [ Inferno ] attack to send Max to the afterlife.

From start to finish the fight only lasted 15 seconds.
