I Was Sick of Loving You chapter 94

94 – (Side Story) Young Dark Elf and Teacher

15 days have passed since I had a conversation with Uncle Daniel.

Sometimes the events of the day come up in my dreams, but now I can barely feel the screams and the smell of blood. I no longer have the thought of wanting to die along with my brothers and sisters.

But I don’t know what to do or what I want to do. My brothers and sisters always tell me to do what I like… but I don’t know what I like.

I don’t know because everything I like is gone.

I don’t like anything, but there are things that bother me. Uncle Daniel cares.

I can’t understand the man who always helps others without asking for anything in return and smiles happily when he says thank you.

I want to know that feeling that is the only thing left of me who has nothing to like. So I asked my uncle.

“mister.”

“Well? Why, Rachel?”

“I want to follow that uncle.”

“Are you still together?”

“Not that. I don’t want to go to the Holy Land and I want to follow you around.”

The uncle put on a troubled expression for a moment, but then he made a serious expression.

“Rachel, it will be dangerous and difficult to follow you. Do you still want to follow me?”

“Yes.”

The old man stroked his chin and thought for a moment. After thinking for a moment, the old man looked at me and opened his mouth.

“Then let’s do this. I will stop by the Holy Land in a month, so if you feel the same way then I will do the same.”

“Yes!”

“If it’s still difficult, just tell me.”

He smiled and stroked my hair.

“Yes!”

So I went around with my uncle. Most of them were human territory, but sometimes they roamed the territory of other races such as elves, beastmen, and barbarians.

The commonality of the places they wandered around was that they were always being attacked or were attacked by monsters. And always the uncle helped the people there. If there were monsters, they killed them, took out herbs to treat the injured, and distributed food to those who were hungry.

Those who were helped by the uncle expressed their gratitude and tried to repay. The uncle received only a greeting of thanks and did not receive anything in return. And always said

“I did it because I liked it, so I can’t get anything in return.”

And he always smiled. Something tickled me when I saw such an old man from the side.

Not understanding the tickling, a month passed and they arrived at the holy land of Vishal. Upon arriving at the Holy Land, the brothers and sisters there welcomed him. It was a bit strange to see the brothers and sisters as if they were welcoming a brother who had returned after a long absence.

I knew that the man was related to this place, but I didn’t know that my brothers and sisters, who don’t like humans very much, would welcome me like this.

When I was a little curious about such a situation, the eyes of the brothers and sisters here turned to me. Among the brothers and sisters looking at me, the most active brother pointed at me.

“Daniel, who is this kid?”

“His name is Rachel, and she’s the one I’m taking with me these days.”

“Oh, did you finally take in a disciple?”

“It’s not like that. There were just circumstances.”

The uncle held my hand while having such a conversation with the brother. The big rough hands were warm. So, holding the uncle’s hand, we headed towards the center of the Holy Land.

When I went to the center, a large building built of white stone stood out. When the brothers guarding the front of the building saw the man, they bowed and greeted him. The uncle put on a puzzled expression and stopped the brothers. Then he stroked my hair and told me to wait a minute. I nodded and looked at the old man walking away.

When the uncle got away, the brothers who guarded this place came up to me and told me various stories. Stories and petty gossip about the Holy Land.

It’s been a while since I’ve been talking to my brothers and sisters, but I’m curious about what the uncle is doing, so I can’t hear what he’s talking about.

I was listening to a little bit of a dry story like that, and the uncle came back.

“Rachel, it looks like it’s going to be a long day. Brothers and sisters will be attached to you, so spend some time looking around the Holy Land.”

I nodded again and replied. Also, the uncle left and soon after, the brothers and sisters came to visit. The brothers and sisters gave us a tour of the Holy Land and told us stories related to it.

It’s a sight of a place I wanted to see at least once in the past, but it doesn’t come into my eyes. I just care about my uncle. So I spent my time not focusing on anything.

Time passed and the uncle came to visit me. Uncle stroked my hair. it is warm I realized my heart a little in that warmth.

“Rachel, how was the tour of the Holy Land?”

“It was beautiful.”

“I see. Do you remember the promise you made with your uncle?”

“Yes. Mister, I would rather follow you than stay here.”

He didn’t say anything and just looked at me.

“If you follow the uncle, difficult and dangerous things will happen, but I think following the uncle will make you happy.”

“i get it. I wish you well in the future.”

Also, the uncle is strange. He is a strange man who says that he is asking me to take good care of me, who has no help. It is also strange for me to see my brothers and sisters in such a strange man.

“Yes! Please take care of me too.”

Saying that, he took his father’s hand. He looked at me and smiled, then took my hand and walked slowly. That’s how I went around the world with my uncle and helped various beings without distinction of race.

As I followed the uncle and helped others, I began to feel proud and happy with their smiles and thanks. Only then did he begin to understand a little.

When I was able to understand the uncle a little bit, I developed a little greed. I want to be strong like you. I want to become a little stronger and help many people and help the man. So I swung my sword, reflecting on what my brothers and sisters had taught me.

While training like that every day, the man came up to me and corrected my posture.

“Put your feet a little further forward and relax a little.”

“Yes!”

Even after that, the uncle pointed out various parts, and I corrected them one by one. Days like that went by and at some point the uncle started teaching me swordsmanship.

I was happy with that. So, I practiced harder and helped people during the day. When I lived like that and the seasons cycled, the uncle gave me a sword as a gift. Two swords shorter than a normal sword but longer than a dagger. I was so happy with it that I fell asleep with it by my side even when I was sleeping.

He lived by defeating monsters and helping people with the swords given to him by his uncle.

People’s thanks and smiles are warm.

Their joy and tears of relief were beautiful.

And now, the compliments from the man who became a teacher were so warm that I was happy.

From the day I felt that way, I no longer had nightmares, and the painful memories gradually began to fade. A wound I had forgotten about came to me.

The day I was looking for monsters as usual. I found a lich leading a group of monsters. The lich started to go mad when he saw me, muttering something incomprehensible. Before the murmur was over, Master smashed Richie’s head.

However. A strange murmur continued to linger in my ears. It lingered in my ears until it became quiet and my heart started to ache. The pain spread all over the body and the whole body felt like a burning pain. I lost consciousness in such pain and then repeated the days when I regained it.

What I saw during those days were Master’s tears. The first day I saw her, seeing the same tears as Master’s, made my heart hurt. As I was feeling it, Master brushed my hair and said:

“Be patient.”

I lived by enduring the melting pain, relying on the words I spat out in a wet voice. In the meantime, Master entrusted me to the Holy Land and set out on a journey.

A month has passed since Master left. The burning pain disappeared as if it had been washed. In that situation, I looked for Master, but Master was nowhere to be found. In such a situation, I grabbed each one and asked about Master, but no one knew.

When I was confused by such a situation, the elder came to visit me.

“Wait here.”

After saying that, the elder left. The next day, the elder returned with Master on his back. Tears flowed when I saw Master being carried by the Elder.

Blood soaked all over the body, a body with no healthy spots, and limbs so tattered that bones could be seen. Seeing Master like that made me feel the pain of the day the forest burned again.

As I was weeping over such pain, a stern voice was heard.

“Don’t cry. Your teacher did not come to this to see you like that.”

I tried to stop crying at those words, but it didn’t stop.

“Both the disciple and the master have the same soft heart.”

After saying that, the Elder left with Master on his back. I let go of the unstoppable tears and followed him.

I followed the Elder to the center of the Holy Land. There, as the Elder beckoned, blue light enveloped Master and seeped into the wound. Then, slowly, the wound began to heal. However, it soon stopped and Master’s wounds were not fully healed.

“Tsk, the creator god made the ordeal even worse.”

After saying that, the elder gestured again. Then, a red fruit flew and landed on the Elder’s hand. The elder cut it into small pieces and put it into Master’s mouth. Then, a slight light lingered around Master’s body, and the wound disappeared in an instant.

Trembling at the sight, he approached Master. Then Master’s closed eyelids slowly opened. The tears that I had been trying to stop at the scene started to flow again. I shed tears and hugged Master. Then I heard Master’s slightly locked voice.

“Rachel? Are you okay now?”

Master’s words were so warm and painful. It was so warm and painful that Master’s heart for others rather than himself came out clearly.

I like this kind of teacher, but I wish I could care for myself more than others. I hope you don’t put yourself in danger.

Thinking so, she hugged Master and cried endlessly.
