Haunted Duke’s Daughter – Chapter 128

Lilia quietly checked the wall newspaper again. She would ask the prince to check it on his next day off, but if it had to be rewritten because of something superfluous, everyone here would be depressed. Even Lilia, who only participated a little, thinks so.

S–I think you’ve taken into account that both the nobles and the commoners will be watching. You write the facts as they are, without inserting unnecessary feelings. I think this will be fine, too.

Hearing this, Lilia finally took a breath.

Considering that it is already getting late, she immediately started to clean up. They decided to gather again after actually putting the newspaper up in the hallway.

“Just don’t forget to get permission from the academy.”

Liana nodded with a serious expression on her face as Lilia reminded her. “But first,” Lilia added.

“There’s an exam waiting for you.”

The air froze. Everyone slowly turned their attention to Lilia, as if they could hear the sound of a “giggle”. Lilia continued as she prepared to leave, careful not to make eye contact with anyone.

“You might be able to publish the newspaper before the exam, but you still have to study, especially since you’ve missed a couple of classes.”

“Yes…….”

“I can teach you after school if you want.”

When I added this, they all looked up vigorously. They all seemed to be anxious about their studies.

When Lilia looked at Ray with cold eyes, Ray muttered in a small voice that there was no point in my saying that.

It was a little early, but I was to watch Liana and the others study here after school for a limited time until the exam.

One week remained until the first exam.

At the request of Liana and her friends, Lilia has been teaching the four students since morning in her usual room in the library. In addition to Lilia, Ray was also teaching.

Lilia gave them instructions “Next, go through the problems on this page.”

When Lilia gave the instruction, the four students responded cheerfully and started working on the problems at once. While the four of them were solving the problems, she pretended to read and listened to Sakura’s lecture.

They continued until just before noon, when Sakura abruptly stopped speaking.

–It’s here.

Lilia looks up. At the same time, there was a knock at the door. The four students studying stared at the door in confusion, and Ray, who knew what was going on, went to get the wall newspaper in the corner of the room.

“Liliane-sama?”

“Wait for me.”

Liliane said to Tania, who looked puzzled, and opened the door of the room.

“I’m sorry. Did I keep you waiting?”

It was the prince and Chris followed behind him.

“No problem. Chris was there too.”

“I’m just curious. Can’t I go?”

“Of course it’s not a problem.”

When Lilia threw a glance in the direction of Liana and the others, they all froze with their mouths open. The prince was about to open his mouth to say something, but seemed to give up immediately with a wry smile.

“Shall I show you the thing first?”

“Yes, please.”

Lilia leads the way to the back of the room. Ray was already waiting with a wall newspaper spread out. The prince’s cheeks were pulled back at the fact that Ray, the prince of a country, was apparently doing chores, but he just sighed without saying anything in particular.

“Can’t wait to check it out. I’m getting tired.”

Ray whispered, the prince nodded and began to read. Lilia watched him for a moment, then turned back to Liana and the others. Liana and the others were still frozen with their mouths half open.

L–Satisfied?

S–Ahahaha! Yes, I am. Satisfied!

The request for confirmation to the prince was made the day after the wall newspaper was completed. He had agreed to do it on his next day off, but at Sakura’s request, she had not told Liana and the other members of the group. Sakura said she wanted to see how they would react.

S–I think it’s time to talk to them.

Lilia nodded at Sakura’s words and stood in front of Liana. A light tap on the table brought the four of them back to themselves.

“Aldis-senpai, I had a strange dream just now. I dreamed that His Highness the Prince entered the room.”

“He is behind you. Don’t escape reality, say hello.”

“Ugh…….”

The four of them turned around with a fearful look on their faces. The prince had just finished reading the newspaper and turned around.

“Hm? Yes, I have read it.”

At the same time the prince spoke, the four of them stood up and bowed their heads. However, they were unable to speak and were stiff. The prince chuckled and lightly waved his hand.

“So, about this wall newspaper…”

“Yes!”

The prince was puzzled by their words, but continued.

“I don’t see anything wrong with it. You can put it out there as is, well done. If there is a next one, I would be glad to read it again.”

At these words, all four of them were moved to tears. Even the prince himself seemed bewildered by their reaction.

S–This is the art of winning people’s hearts and minds! Lilia, let’s imitate him!

L–Impossible.

S–I think so too.

Lilia looked at Chris, who was also staring at the wall newspaper with an impressed expression on her face and had no choice but to call out to her.

“Chris, have you finished reading? I think Ray’s hand is about to give out.”

“Oh, my. I’m sorry. I finished reading.”

Chris thanked him with a smile. Ray let out a sigh of relief, put down the wall newspaper, and began to put it away.

“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it either.”

“I see. Then I guess we’re all good then.”

The prince nodded and looked at the four of them. With that, all four of them shriveled up.

“Are you going to put this out on a regular basis?’

Liana nodded and answered the prince’s question.

“Yes……..If there’s no problem, I’d be willing to put it out on a regular basis.”

“I see. Then I look forward to the next one.”

When the prince said this with a smile, Liana and Tania blushed. Amos and Elk looked uninterested, but bowed deeply to the prince.

“Well then, keep up the good work.”

The prince said and left the room. Chris followed suit, and soon the two of them left the room and closed the door.

No one opened their mouths for a while after that. Lilia was the only one who sat down on a chair and took a breath without paying any attention.

“I was surprised…….I didn’t expect His Highness to be here…….”

“He wanted to see for himself.”

When Lilia said this, the four seemed to understand. They sat back down and let out a long sigh.
