Chapter 4 – Hikari

I’m getting a general idea of his lordship’s character.

He seems detailed but rough.

And absurdly strong.

Probably more than I can imagine.

I don’t even know if he knows it himself or not.

He’s also very kind and friendly.

「Good morning!」

Usa greeted me and bowed so I bowed in return.

Usa seems to be a dog beastkin and I was surprised when I heard that she was a former slave.

Kuuhi took my hand to support me and I started walking slowly.

I bowed a little and walked step by step.

It has been a month since I was introduced to everyone.

I cried when I was able to stand on both feet and take one step forward.

After that, everyone continued to help me with my rehabilitation and I slowly recovered to the point where I could walk.

His lordship took in eight children, including me.

I looked around and found that his lordship was not there.

We put our hands together and say “itadakimasu” in my heart and begin eating starting with the warm soup.

The soup, which is filled with bite-sized vegetables and meat, is warming and tasty, and well seasoned.

It took me three weeks before I was able to eat with everyone else.

At first, I could only eat light-tasting soup that was easy to digest.

Little by little, the taste became stronger but it was still hard to swallow solid food.

So, when a soup with big vegetables and meat was served, I couldn’t help but smile.

After the meal was over, we slowly enjoyed tea and fruit together.

「Hikari」

Hearing his lordship, I stopped eating the fruit.

「I got a call from Goddess Aion saying that she’s coming this afternoon. She wants to speak with you, are you okay with that? If you don’t want to, you can refuse. You don’t need to worry about it.」

Goddess Aion is the name of the goddess who frequently comes to see his lordship.

She usually only speaks with his lordship and the dragons and now, she’s going to speak with me?

Saying so, the wind dragon Light Blue while laying his face over my head.

I open my mouth but remembering I can’t speak, I close it.

I nodded.

I shook my head.

Then, I watch everyone training in the square.

Someday, I will join them and become strong.

I can’t help but laugh as I listen to his lordship’s sigh next to me.

The three of them are flying in the air with the infant angels while dropping a series of fireball-like objects toward the ground.

Below them, the parent spiders are shooting back fireballs.

Koa, who is often with his lordship, is lying down with her face on his lordship’s leg. On the other hand, his lordship is patting Koa’s head.

Chai, who came along with her, has a slightly strange expression.

I feel like everyone here seems to be making fools of gods.

Light gathers in the corner of the square and takes on the shape of the goddess.

「Why didn’t she just majestically show herself in the middle?」

His lordship laughs at what Koa says.

I was told that the goddess once appeared in the middle of the square when she first started coming here.

And for some reason, she was attacked by everyone in the square.

At his lordship’s words, Koa stood up and made a “grrr” sound.

He pats Koa’s head and stands up. Then, his lordship grabbed my hand.

His lordship walks slowly, matching my walking speed.

His lordship smiles back at Goddess Aion.
