A Berserker Mob, I’m Going to Participate in the Main Story – Chapter 52.2

Resolution and Role

“Dear Al-sama. Erald’s condition seems to have stabilised. He is now accompanied by Colin and Cyrus, who don’t seem to have any problems. How is Al-sama feeling?”

“Hmm? I’m fine. ..It’s just I felt like something nasty being poured down my throat. maybe they’re just trying to get back at me.”

The goddess’ messenger, who had been in Erald, disappeared, and Al, who was left with something in his body, fell unconscious without warning.

Vera, who was watching this sequence of events from the side, was shaken to the bone and grew anxious.

However, Al was unconscious for only a short time. When Colin, who had sensed something was wrong, rushed into the room, his consciousness itself had returned. He was still in a daze, though.

..Sometimes I felt that my previous life was like a dream that I was having now. Conversely, there have been times when I’ve wondered if my current self isn’t the dream I was having in my previous life.

I guess it’s a good thing that I’ve come to realize that this world is real shit that I can’t do anything about. Well, I knew that it wasn’t a world where I could just play games happily.

Al received a message from a goddess servant, Angel, or whatever. The origins of the world. The position of the goddesses in the world. The involvement of the game. Various things like that.

I don’t know about creation, but at least this world didn’t have a game story. But it has influenced it a lot. The Goddesses, the God of Netherworld and other gods don’t like it.

The Goddesses are also bound by the stories imposed on them by higher beings. Humans, the demons, the subhumans, and the demons are also being played with in order to reproduce that story, the characteristics of their race, and even the direction of their thoughts.

The Goddess and the God of Netherworld have each other’s pawns and are forced to imitate board games in this world in accordance with the story. It is a game scenario, isn’t it? The end result is nearly decided, so you can understand why the Goddess and the God of Netherworld would be pissed off.

Al does not know what exactly these higher beings are than the Gods are. At the very least, they are beings that cannot be grasped by the messengers of the goddesses. It is certain that they are not in a category that the inert human race of this world can understand.

Anyway, Al learned that the goddesses are also bound by a higher existence…

In the game’s story, I’m just a mob. Even so, I still thought, or rather hoped, I was something special somewhere, with memories of my previous life, but …it doesn’t seem like that’s the case. And then, what’s with the ‘apostles’?They’re just one of those disposable pawns.

Bound Goddesses can only move freely in the margins of the story. And they cannot directly influence the story. Since the gods are not free either.

Then what to do? Just summon those who know the story beforehand. Let them stir things up. The story and the world itself.

And summoned one is Al. He is a mob with no role in the story.

In this world, he is an apostle selected by the goddess.

Naturally, Al could not be alone. Many others were summoned. If you go back in time, it would be impossible to count them all.

As a result, only a few, including Al, remain in this era.

Some of those summoned to the frontier die under harsh conditions, while others lose memories of their previous lives as they grow older. In some cases, they were punished as heretics.

In the first place, many of them, like Al, had hazy memories. Furthermore, there are even those who, for some reason, have been reincarnated as demons and Monsters are now living in remote areas or in deep forests as natural enemies of humans.

Those who originally had no role to play. The goddess doesn’t care if they can’t do anything. There are no expectations to that extent.

And there is the misunderstanding that the apostles recognized by the Church according to understanding the oracle, the power of the goddess and her favor, and the apostles intentionally summoned by the goddess to stir up the story, are two different things.

Sirmes has a slight goddess power.

She is one of the Church’s recognized ‘apostles’, although this has not yet been clearly affirmed. She is said to be an incarnated saint, a guiding light of the Divine Child, etc. She also appears in a few other stories.

Al, on the other hand, does not have the power of a goddess in his body. He only has fragmentary knowledge of the stories from his previous life, and can identify some of the “powers” belonging to the gods. Apostles” directly invited by the Goddess. Naturally, he has no role in the ‘story’.

There is a big gap between them, even if they are the same ‘Apostles’.

And not all of the few surviving Goddess-derived ‘apostle pre-habitants’, including Al, want to be involved in the story. The Goddess did not even consider their free will.

After all, it is just an idea of a being who looks at the world from a higher place. It was just a move to give it a try.

And the God of Netherworld did something similar in collusion with the goddess.

Elinora of Life adopted the method of reincarnating those who originally knew the story, and Zachariah of the Netherworld adopted the method of recalling those who had left this world’s present world. The dead are called back to this world.

Those who have returned from the dead. It is no surprise that once they have left, they have no role to play. They are not supposed to appear. They are just marginal beings.

The God of Netherworld and the Goddess imposed a “story” on such people. Forcibly.

Knowing the future of the story, they thought of creating a distorted existence of their own, which was not there in the first place or supposed to be.

And the beginning of the ‘Oracle’ was transmitted from those distorted ones.

In other words, In the early days of the Oracle are not the ones indicated by the goddess Elinora.

It is something that was known later. The muddled memories of those implanted with stories and the insanity of being called back to this world have caused their spiritual boundaries to come off.. There is no distinction between humans, demons, subhumans….

Being forcibly pulled back from Hades was not something that those who lived in this world could endure.

Like the goddesses, most of the attempts led by the God of Netherworld failed and they ended up dying and returning to Hades once more. Of course, there are some distorted successes who remain in this world. From their point of view, it is an unbearable pain and failure.

They lament their forced recall from the peace of death and harbor in their hearts rebellion and madness against the gods. They are still wandering around this world as temporary, false, living people, voicing their resentment towards the gods.

The oracle is, by its very nature, incomplete, and ambiguous. However, in order to stir up the story, the goddess Elinorah made a small arrangement for those with her own attributes to …… Make it easier for those in this world to receive the oracle as “The Oracle of the Goddess”. Even adding information.

However, the goddess is also a bounded being. It is not possible to show something that decisively goes beyond the boundaries of the story. In the end, the oracle also follows the story.

Jeez. It’s a total nuisance.. If people who aren’t in the story make the moves, it’s certainly not going to be as it should be. I’m a bit aware of that, too.

But this world is real to begin with. People with a will are living in it.. Even if the goddesses had not bothered to meddle, I feel that the scenario would not have gone according to plan. In fact, I might have overturned the story on my own, just as the goddesses wanted.

Even the protagonists, Daryl and Cecily, are clearly moving of their own volition. Rather, because of the Oracle, the kingdom and the church have gone wild and are following the same path as the original story, don’t you think? Perhaps Daryl’s resolve was born out of such an exchange?

Al thought so.

In fact, even the struggle of the goddess and the God of Netherworld might have been in the narrative of the game’s story …… that binds the gods as well.

Al received such information as a message without hesitation. But it is also true that he felt resentment towards the deeds of the Goddess and the God of Netherworld.

Unreasonableness imposed by an overwhelming existence. Al thinks from the perspective of those who are at the mercy of such things.

And the role of the Apostle Albert, which he has so much to say about, is to intervene in this world and stir up the story.

Al is a being of the outside world. When he comes into contact with the characters in the story, the goddess intervenes in the world, using that as a starting point. In the category of marginality. It only affects it very slightly.

And the changes made so far in the story.

The Sirmes, the Frum, Deacon Franz, Vince, Cyrus, Vera and Colin, too?

Inevitably, for the goddesses to subvert and intervene in this world, they need to follow the flow of the story.

This is the case with the twins, although it is not known to Al. The episode is changed by the distorted guidance of the goddesses.

In the original story, the twins only had the role of giving “power” to the Divine Child. That was the event.

However, the goddess inserted a key to the apostle Al in the margins of the story. She recognized him as a “useful pawn”.

To get the twins and Al involved, she played with Al’s surroundings stories a little bit. There is no consideration for the individuals Erald and Lamarda.

Lamarda and Erald were exposed to the malevolence of the aristocracy. That wasn’t part of the original “story”. It is even possible that this was due to my intervention. But there’s no end to it. Damn it.

The goddesses may be happy to disrupt the story. But for our part, there is no guarantee that the result of the stirring will be better than the original. And there is no way of confirming this.

Al is somewhat distressed, but that does not change anything he would do even if he knew the reality of the goddesses.

Moving for his own purpose.

Reducing war damage to the people. Harassment of the enemy.

But it is also true that there is one more thing he wants to do from here.

If the story is bound as it is, there will be a conflict between aristocratic families shortly after in the royal capital. Should I take advantage of that and seriously thin out the numbers? Information on the corrupt aristocratic families themselves is rather well gathered.

A dim light is lit in Al.

In the royal capital, unlike on the frontier, nobles are required to specialize in governing politics, not fighting. If that part can be cleared, or, if push comes to shove, it may be necessary to overcome that and get the push out of them.

That’s what Al thinks.

“Al-sama. You are still not feeling well, are you?”

“Oops. Sorry, Vera. That leaked out a bit. I might have startled Colin.”

He thoughts leaks.. It’s something he wouldn’t normally think of.

He is a little less in control of his mana now. It’s because of the influence of the things left behind by the Goddess messenger in Al.

Whatever the go-between gods’ intentions, for me, this is the real deal with this afterglow.

Objects left in Al. Other than the message. It is the power of the goddess.

Once it’s exhausted, it’s over. Perhaps only once can it be used to its full potential. Purification of black mana. Exercise of a power that does not exist in the Story. Using this power has already been explained in Al’s mind.

I don’t like the goddesses, but I’ll take advantage of what I can. Now I have insurance in case of emergencies. I’d rather they put more effort into this anyway.

I am a member of the nobility. I am a fighter. I don’t care how the story goes. In the first place, I don’t even remember it properly. I can only say that you should do your best with your goddesses. Priests and divine children. I am only a mere mortal of this world.

Reincarnated persons. One who has memories of a previous life. One who knows the reason outside this world. Apostles.

All of these are indicative of Al, but not all of them fit Al’s characteristics.

The Kingdom and the Church are puppets of the Oracle.

They do not care about the will of Daryl or Cecily.

The Goddess and the God of Netherworld expect the work of those outside the story.

They, too, do not care about the will of every one of the pieces.

Baron Albert Falconer, son of Baron Albert Falconer.

Pawn of the goddess outside the story. An apostle.

However, he is legitimately someone who is a member of the aristocracy of this world. A frontier Berserker.

He does not give a single shit about the Goddess’ wishes.

He conquers his own path. Through the bloody battles, the malevolence, the roar of unreason, they are all by Al’s own choice.
